Oil and Gas Management Plan and Draft Environmental Impact Statement for Big South Fork and Obed River

The National Park Service must take action to strictly manage oil and gas resources in the Big South Fork NNRA and Obed WSR. The most stringent regulations, without individual exemptions, must be applied in regulating existing oil and gas activity in these parks which are so susceptible to damage from these activities. No new activities should be permitted unless there is no possibility that they could harm park resources or decrease visitor experience. Special Management Areas should be designated to the largest extent possible and should encompass the entire Obed WSR.
